Police are investigating the death of an 89-year-old man found in his Manhattan apartment Thursday evening.

Police say they responded to a 911 call just before 6 p.m. at 65th Street in Lenox Hill.

They say the man had trauma to the head, and his hands were tied behind his head.

"I'm a little concerned. We haven't had any problems in our neighborhood for many years," said one Lenox Hill resident. "We're on the Upper East Side, it's pretty quiet over here. We have New York Hospital up the street and it's always a concern when we don't know who's done what to whom."

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
