Truck traffic has been restored in both directions along the Throgs Neck Bridge following a construction fire earlier this month.

Commuters, however, will still have to put up with congestion for a few more weeks as repairs are made.

The MTA says the one Bronx-bound lane that remains closed along with the Cross Island Parkway ramp will not reopen until August 10th.

The MTA says a construction worker's blow torch likely sparked the July 10th fire in a construction shed underneath the bridge.

The fire was hot enough that some steel now has to be replaced or reinforced.

The contractor has admitted responsibility and will pay for the repairs.
