Wake services were held Wednesday afternoon for the cleaning woman found dead inside a Manhattan office building last weekend.
Friends and family of Eridania Rodriguez gathered at the Ortiz Funeral Home in Inwood to pay their respects.
Her body will be flown to the Dominican Republic for burial.
"To lose somebody in this manner is beyond words, you can't even imagine, anybody, especially a decent, hard-working woman to just be done like this, nobody deserves this. Nobody," said Victor Martinez, the victim's brother.
Rodriguez was found dead inside an air conditioning duct on Saturday, days after she disappeared while working in the building.
Authorities say her hands and face had been bound with tape. The medical examiner says Rodriguez died of asphyxiation.
So far, no arrests have been made.
