Police are investigating a double shooting in Manhattan.
Investigators say officers responded to calls of shots fired outside the Woodrow Wilson housing complex in East Harlem Monday afternoon.
Police say an 11-year-old boy was hit in the leg and a 77-year-old man had a graze wound to his buttocks.
Both were taken area hospitals in stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, the shooting prompted local activists and members of the clergy to speak out against gun violence.
"The child was 15-years old. It has to stop. We have to take back our community, we cannot give up our children, we cannot five up on our children," said Iesha Sekou of Street Corner Resources.
"Families, take charge of your kids. Someone saw this senseless killing and nobody said anything. It's time to tell. We have a long summer coming. We need the gun violence to stop," said Jackie Rowe-Adams of Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E.
Local activists say parents need to become more involved in the lives of their children in order to keep them off the streets.
