Rescue Crews Search For Man Near Queens Beach

Coast Guard officials searched Saturday for a man who was swimming with two female coworkers in the waters off a beach in Far Rockaways, Queens.
Ramon Figero, 35, was swimming with 24-year-old Daria Miranda and a 21-year-old female coworker in the East Rockaway Inlet off Edgemere on Saturday morning before lifeguards were on duty, according to the Coast Guard.
The unnamed coworker reported around 8:15 a.m. that her colleagues needed assistance.
Miranda was rescued shortly afterwards by a passerby and was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
As of 6 p.m. Saturday, the Coast Guard, police and parks departments and aviation teams were searching the area near the Atlantic Street Bridge.
