The deadline is looming for all parties involved in the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave developer Larry Silverstein until Thursday to settle his dispute with the site's owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Silverstein has been trying to renegotiate the terms of his lease while asking the agency for more than $3 billion to finance two of the three towers he wants to build.

However, the Port Authority will only commit to one of the towers for $800 million.

A spokesman for the mayor tells the Associated Press both sides are engaging in "active discussions."

NY1 has reached out to the mayor's office for comment.
