On Thursday was Barack Obama’s historic acceptance speech and on Friday was the clean-up at Denver Invesco Field.

"The good old statement, ‘fired up, ready to go.’ Well this is fired up, ready to go home," said a departing Democratic delegate.

Stage crew carted away the scenery, as military protection started to disperse.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was even lugging bags to the airport, but was running behind and couldn’t talk to NY1.

At Steve Riedell's t-shirt stall, partisan t-shirts were 66 percent off.

“Yeah, my biggest seller this week was my ‘Impeach Bush, Torture Cheney,’” said Riedell.

Back in Invesco, Democratic volunteer Brett Cooper was picking up discarded campaign sings.

"Most of them are being recycled," said Cooper.

But overall, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said the convention was good for the Democrats.

"Well obviously, the Rocky Mountains are in play, and I think that this is probably going to have a significant impact in New Mexico and Arizona,” said Hickenlooper. “Montana's fifty-fifty right now between McCain and Obama, Colorado's fifty-fifty."

Many attendees left Colorado with indelible memories

"I've been working all my life in civil rights and women's rights and gay rights. And everything came together. And I was so proud to be a Democrat,” said an attendee.

The NY1 election coverage team moves to Minnesota, to cover the Republican National Convention next week.
