The Moreland Commission is holding a hearing on Staten Island tonight.
Similar hearings have already taken place in Queens, Manhattan and on Long Island.
Governor Andrew Cuomo launched the commission to make recommendations for overseeing and improving utilities in the state, including Con Edison and LIPA.
The governor severely criticized the performance of those companies during and after Sandy, when some people lost power for weeks.
The commission will release its final proposals sometime this spring.
