Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor will administer the oath of office to Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden requested Sotomayor, the native New Yorker, swear him in for his second term.

Sotomayor will become the first Hispanic and just the fourth woman to administer the oath.

The last time was 1997 when Ruth Bader Ginsburg swore in Vice President Al Gore.

Chief Justice John Roberts will swear in President Obama.

Roberts flubbed the oath when he swore in the president four years ago.

The U.S. Constitution mandates the official swearing-in take place on January 20.

Ceremonial swearings-in will be held the following day.

NY1 will have complete coverage from Washington on January 21.
