In March, the shooting of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin caught the nation's attention. The teen was gunned down by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer who allegedly followed Martin, a black teenager in a hooded sweatshirt, walking in a gated Florida community. After a call to a 911 operator, who advised Zimmerman to wait for police, he instead confronted the teen.
