Just two weeks ago, a shooting spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut left 28 dead, and the nation in shock. The gunman, Adam Lanza, shot his mother in her home and then headed to the school, where his mother is said to have volunteered. There, using his mother's guns, he shot 20 children and six adults, then killed himself after police arrived.
