NYPD Under Scrutiny For Record "Stop, Question and Frisks"
Despite Mayor Bloomberg's efforts to keep criticism at bay, outcry over the NYPD's surveillance of Muslims communities and student groups grew louder in 2012. The New York Civil Liberties Union also released a report showing during the first nine months of the year, police stopped innocent New Yorkers nearly 400,000 times, with the majority of those stopped being black or Latino.
