An investigation is under way after high winds were believed to have caused a scaffold collapse in Brooklyn early Friday morning.

It happened near Bay Parkway and 72nd Street in Bensonhurst around 4 a.m.

Officials at the scene say one portion fell onto Bay Parkway, and just as that scaffold was getting cleaned up another part came crashing down on West 12th Street, crushing several cars.

One resident we spoke with was trying to take the loss of her brand new car in stride.

"I don't even know what to say. Guess I was just parked in the wrong spot. Wrong place. Wrong time," said the resident.

A fallen light post that was laying across Bay Parkway also disrupted traffic in the area for the morning commute.
