Cyber Monday Deals Spur Largest Online Shopping Day Of The Year

Online retailers are rolling out deep discounts for Cyber Monday, in hopes of serving some customers who did not want to brave the Black Friday crowds.

Today is expected to be the biggest online shopping day of the year as people return to work and do some shopping from their office computers.

Many retailers started offering deals just after midnight.

Amazon.com is offering as much as 60 percent off a Panasonic TV that is usually more than $1,000.

Sears is taking $430 off a Maytag washer and dryer.

According to research firm comScore, Americans are expected to spend $1.5 billion today, compared to last year, when shoppers spent about $1.25 billion online.

Traditional stores had their big sales days on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
