Three Arrested In Europe In Connection With NYC Subway Bomb Plot

By: NY1 News

Three suspected al-Qaida members have been arrested in Europe in connection with a terror plot to blow up the city’s subway system.

The three men were arrested in Norway, according to the FBI.

Officials are not saying what country or site was the target of the trio; however, they do say the men were planning attacks with portable bombs like the ones linked to failed attacks on New York's subways and a shopping mall in Manchester, England.

Yesterday, a terrorism indictment was unsealed in Brooklyn federal court – accusing al-Qaida member Adnan El Shukrijumah of being directly involved in plotting the subway attack.

The indictment accuses Shukrijumah of recruiting Najibullah Zazi, Zarein Ahmedzay and Adis Medunjanin to receive training from al-Qaida in Pakistan.
