Investigators have reportedly identified several alleged accomplices of the Afghan immigrant accused of plotting a terrorist attack on New York City.

According to the Associated Press, court papers say at least three people helped Najibullah Zazi, 24, buy beauty products containing peroxide and acetone in Colorado.

The chemicals can be used to make homemade bombs.

A law enforcement official tells the AP the three people are from New York. The official would not divulge the whereabouts of the possible accomplices or the bomb-making materials.

Zazi is due back in Brooklyn Federal Court Tuesday to be charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction.

Prosecutors claim Zazi was planning a terrorist attack to coincide with the September 11th anniversary and tried to create bombs like the ones used in the London and Madrid transit attacks.

Zazi has maintained his innocence.
