The man at the center of an FBI raid in Queens reportedly met with a member of al-Qaida.

A source close to the investigation told the Associated Press Friday that former Queens resident Najibullah Zazi, seen above, had contact with a known al-Qaida associate.

Federal authorities are looking to question Zazi's father about his son's alleged terrorist activities.

FBI agents have been combing through boxes of evidence taken from Zazi's suburban Denver home.

Zazi cooperated and gave them fingerprints and samples of his DNA and handwriting. He maintains he is not involved with any terrorism plot and his lawyers are denying the allegations.

He traveled to New York City over the weekend, prompting officials to raid three homes in Flushing, Queens on Monday.

No arrests were made following the raids.

The New York Police Department and the FBI said Friday there were no specific threats to New York.
