It's the fourth day of training camp for the New York Jets and only the second day of padded practice—already, one of Gang Green's brightest young stars is on the sideline.

First round pick Calvin Pryor is being evaluated for a concussion.

The rookie safety from Louisville sustained a head injury yesterday during the team's first padded practice.

Coach Rex Ryan says Pryor was playing punt protector when he collided with a teammate.

"It was a head injury and obviously, when those things happen you always kind of side on being cautious, and that's what we're doing. Whether it's a concussion or not—I'm not sure," Ryan said.

Ryan could not confirm the severity of the injury; he could only say that Pryor was being evaluated under the National Football League’s concussion assessment protocol.

The team is required to be forthright about head injuries.

Looking ahead, the Jets get a break; tomorrow is their first day off.
