Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
Tanaka is headed back to New York for an MRI.
He came to the Yankees with much fanfare, and a 7-year, $155 million contract, this past offseason.
Tanaka has a 12-4 record and a 2.51 ERA, and was named an All-Star on Sunday.
However, he had his worst outing of the season Tuesday in Cleveland, giving up 10 hits and five earned runs. He also gave up four earned runs on July 3.
Prior to that, he'd given up three or fewer runs in each of his first 16 starts.
The Yankees have already seen starters CC Sabathia, Ivan Nova and Michael Pineda all go down with injuries this season.
