Knicks fans may soon have reason to celebrate.
Published reports say Carmelo Anthony is likely to re-sign with the Knicks, and the decision could come as soon as this weekend.
Melo met with team officials in Los Angeles Thursday, where he was visiting the Lakers as part of a cross-country tour exploring his options as a free agent.
It was the second meeting between the Knicks and Anthony, who is also in talks with the Bulls, the Mavericks, and the Rockets.
The Knicks are offering Melo the maximum contract deal—five years and $129 million—though Knicks owner Phil Jackson has encouraged Anthony to consider signing for less, giving the team room build a stronger roster.
