The Philadelphia Flyers rode a hat trick from forward Wayne Simmonds to a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers in Game 6 of their first-round series in Philadelphia Tuesday night.

Simmonds scored the Flyers' first, second and fourth goals of the evening as Philadelphia jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the end of the second period.

The Rangers' Carl Hagelin cut the lead to 4-1 with a goal at the 13:26 mark of the third period, but the Flyers' Claude Giroux sealed the win a little more than two minutes later with an empty-net goal.

Mats Zuccarello added a goal late for the Rangers for the final 5-2 tally.

The Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist was pulled after the second period. He allowed four goals on 23 shots.

The decisive Game 7 will take place Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. The puck will drop at 7 p.m.
