After firing the entire Knicks coaching staff, Team President Phil Jackson spoke to the media Wednesday.

The Knicks cut ties with Mike Woodson and his staff Monday.

Jackson said Woodson didn't match the direction he wants to take the team.

"We're looking for a leader, someone that can bring out the best in players, someone that has a capability of encouraging a staff to meet the needs that players have so that they philosophically join me and they buy into what we're doing," Jackson said.

Jackson said the search for a new head coach and supporting staff has already begun. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
