The Yankees' biggest offseason acquisition made his spring training debut Saturday.

Masahiro Tanaka threw 31 pitches in two scoreless innings, striking out three batters and helping the Yanks to a 4-0 win over the Phillies.

The 25 year old hurler signed a $155-million, 7-year contract with the Bombers in January.

Meanwhile, the Mets lost 9-1 to the Marlins.

Lucas Duda, who is competing for the first base position, hit a homer for the Mets' only run, but he also made one of the team's three errors.
