New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz defended quarterback Eli Manning Tuesday in an exclusive interview with NY1.
The two-time Super Bowl MVP threw three interceptions in the Giants' fourth-quarter of their loss to the Eagles Sunday.
The Giants are now 0-5 as they head into their game Thursday night in Chicago.
After Sunday's game, head coach Tom Coughlin said the quarterback was "almost putting too much on himself" in the effort to win, but Cruz said he doesn't agree with that.
"When you watch the film, Eli is just going through this reads, going through his progression, and things aren't ending up the way he's hoping," Cruz said. "So it's not something that's he's pressing or he's doing too much or he's trying too hard for us. He's doing what he has to do. He's making his reads and he's going from there, which is a good sign."
