A promotion honoring Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera got bobbled last night in the Bronx, but it all worked out in the end.
The team planned to hand out Mariano Rivera bobblehead dolls to the first 18,000 fans who arrived for the game. However, the giveaways were late in getting to the Bronx because of a transportation issue.
Fans were given vouchers which they were able to exchange for the dolls once they arrived in the third inning.
Rivera's number 42 was retired by the Yankees on Sunday.
He is set to retire at the end of the season.
