Former Ranger great Mark Messier is taking on a big new challenge off the ice.
The NHL Hall-of-Famer has been named the CEO of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center in the Bronx.
It's the world's largest ice sports facility.
When it's done, it will feature nine year-round indoor rinks, including three Olympic- and 6 NHL-sized rinks.
Zambonis are expected to make their first official lap in 2017.
During his 25-year career, Messier won six Stanley Cups, including one with the Rangers in 1994.
