Tickets to next year's Super Bowl at Met Life Stadium may need to come with a complimentary shovel.

The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a winter storm to hit the northeast around February 2, when Super Bowl XLVIII is set to kick off at the Meadowlands.

The 197-year-old almanac is already calling the game the "Storm Bowl."

The forceast is based on planetary positions, sunspots and lunar cycles.

Modern scientists are skeptical, but the almanac claims its forecasts are correct about 80 percent of the time.

New Yorkers who spoke with NY1 Monday morning had a mixed reaction to the idea of snow at the big game.

"Football is a snow weather game. When it snows it's that time for football," said one New Yorker.

"It ruins the game actually. That's the problem. You want to watch a fair game, you don't want to watch the weather, you want to respect the fans. Everybody's gonna come to New York and you're gonna have a situation where no one's gonna be able to enjoy it because it's gonna be disastrous," said another New Yorker.

Super Bowl XLVIII will be the first one ever held outdoors in a cold weather stadium. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
