The United States Tennis Association has announced plans to build a retractable roof over Arthur Ashe Stadium.
It will be part of a $500 million renovation project at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
For the past few years, the finals at the U.S. Open have been rained out.
The USTA had said building a roof would be too hard because the arena is built on a landfill and it can't handle the additional weight.
The organization plans to make an official announcement Thursday.
