New York Giant Victor Cruz has agreed to a five-year extension worth a reported $43 million.

Last month, Cruz signed a one-year deal worth almost $3 million for this upcoming season.

The newest extension would keep him with Big Blue through the 2018 season.

The receiver, known for his end zone salsa dance, was raised in Paterson, N.J. and has caught 19 touchdowns over the last two seasons.

He also caught a touchdown pass in their Super Bowl win last year over the New England Patriots.

In a Monday conference call, Cruz said he wants to stay in the New York City area to continue to have a positive impact on local children.

"It was very important, not only for the team and for the Giants but for my family, being from here, for the people from Paterson, for the kids that look up to me in this area. All of that played a part into this and it was very important for me," Cruz said. "And I knew that in order for me to continue to be a role model in an exponential way to these children in this area, I would have to stay a New York Giant."

During the season you can see Cruz in a special weekly segment on NY1.

Cruz also serves as a spokesperson for Time Warner Cable, NY1's parent company. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
