Yankees team captain Derek Jeter was back in game action Saturday night, for the first time since breaking his ankle in the 2012 playoffs.
Jeter suited up for the Yankees Triple-A Team in Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Pa.
He went 0-for-2 with a walk and played five innings at shortstop.
"I just wanted to see pitches, I saw the ball well, just have good at bats, but just get back out there. I pretty much tested it down in Florida these last few weeks in terms of doing everything but you just have to do it in a game situation," Jeter said.
As for the Bronx Bombers, they got a big game from another shortstop returning from an injury.
Eduardo Nunez went 2-for-3 against the Baltimore Orioles, driving in two runs, including what proved to be the game winner.
Andy Pettitte won his 11th straight decision over Baltimore dating back to 2007.
The Yanks beat the Orioles 5-4, in their season-best sixth straight win.
