The Rangers reportedly have a new head coach.
According to multiple published reports, Alain Vigneault has agreed in principle to be the man behind the bench for the Blueshirts next season.
The details are still reportedly being finalized.
Vigneault coached the Vancouver Canucks for the past seven seasons.
The 52-year-old Quebec native was the NHL's coach of the year in 2007 and led the Canucks to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011.
He will replace John Tortorella, who was fired after the Rangers were ousted by the Bruins in the second round of this year's playoffs.
