The criminal case against New York Jets running back Mike Goodson is headed to a grand jury.
He made a brief appearance in a New Jersey courtroom Wednesday.
Goodson pleaded not guilty to drugs and weapons charges after he was arrested last month following a traffic stop on Interstate 80.
Police say they found marijuana, a handgun and a hollow point bullet inside the vehicle.
Prosecutors say no plea deal is on the table.
Goodson played three seasons with the Carolina Panthers before he was signed by the Jets in March.
