Now it's a best of three.
Carl Hagelin scored a goal and helped set up two others as the New York Rangers defeated the Washington Capitals 4-3 in Game 4 of their Eastern Quarterfinal series Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
After losing the series' first two games, the Rangers have knotted the best-of-seven series at 2-2, setting up a best-of-three contest for the right to advance to the Eastern semifinals.
The Rangers skated out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Hagelin and Brad Richards before the Caps tied the game in the second period. Dan Girardi and Derek Stepan then scored for the Blue Shirts in the third.
Game 5 will be Friday night in Washington.
