The New York Knicks withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Celtics to clinch their first postseason series victory since 2000 with an 88-80 win in Boston Friday night.

A 20-0 Celtics run in the fourth quarter cut a sizable Knicks lead down to six, and the Celtics would cut the deficit to as low as four points with 3:31 remaining, but the Knicks would respond with eight straight points to put the game out of reach.

Six Knicks players finished the game in double figures. Carmelo Anthony led New York with 21 points, shooting 7-for-23 from the field. Anthony added 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Iman Shumpert had 17 points for the Knicks on 6-for-9 shooting, while Tyson Chandler contributed 9 points and 12 rebounds.

Jeff Green led the Celtics with 21 points, shooting 4-for-12 from the field. Boston's Paul Pierce was held to 14 points on 4-for-18 shooting, while Kevin Garnett had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Knicks will host the Indiana Pacers Sunday afternoon for the start of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
