Long-time NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall has died.

A spokesman for Fox Sports made announced Summerall's death Tuesday.

Summerall called football games for more than 40 years. He shared the broadcast booth with John Madden for 21 of them.

He took part in the TV broadcasts of 16 Super Bowls.

Before he began his broadcasting career, he played 10 seasons in the NFL from 1952 to 1961, including four seasons with the Giants, primarily as the team's kicker.

Pat Summerall was 82 years old.
