The New York Yankees may not have won a World Series for a few years, but the value of the franchise has held strong.

For the 16th straight year, Forbes Magazine lists the Yankees as baseball's most valued team.

Forbes says the Yankees are worth $2.3 billion, making them the most valuable sports team in America as well.

The magazine says the Bombers raked in money last year not just from ticket sales but also from selling a stake in the YES Network to Fox, plus two Madonna concerts and a soccer match.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the second most valuable team in baseball, followed by the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies.

The Mets are listed as sixth.
