Ice Hockey in Harlem paid tribute to a Rangers legend Wednesday night for his contributions to the organization and the sport.

Hall of Famer Brian Leetch was honored by former teammate Mark Messier and the organization at a Winter Sports Celebration in Midtown.

Leetch has been affiliated with Ice Hockey in Harlem since it started in 1987, his first year with the Rangers.

"To see kids now that have come up through the Ice Hockey in Harlem program and have thrived and the positive effects that this program's had on individuals is fantastic," Leetch said.

Ice Hockey in Harlem teaches inner-city youth the fundamentals of the game, along with math, reading and geography.
