National Hockey League owners and players signed a required memorandum of understanding Saturday night, ending the league's four-month lockout and allowing training camps to open Sunday.

A 48-game season starts next Saturday, with the Rangers taking on the Bruins in Boston, and the Islanders and New Jersey Devils squaring off at Nassau Coliseum.

Teams will only play within their own conference.

The playoffs will begin on April 30 and the latest the Stanley Cup Finals will end is June 28.
