Giants star Victor Cruz recently reached out to the family of one of the young victims killed in last week's Connecticut elementary school shooting.

6-year-old Jack Pinto was a huge fan of the receiver and was laid to rest wearing his Cruz jersey.

Cruz said meeting the family was extremely emotional, but he hopes it brought them some joy.

"For that brief hour and a half, two hours that I was there, they were happy to see me," Cruz said. "Just talking to me about football and talking about how big of a fan Jack was of myself, and how he would sit in front of the TV to watch me play. It was a sad moment, but I was just glad for the hour, hour and a half, they were able to escape for a little bit."

He was so moved by the shooting that Cruz wrote Pinto's name on his cleats and gloves before he took the field against the Atlanta Falcons this past Sunday.
