The NHL canceled regular-season games through Nov. 30 on Friday as labor talks remain at an impasse.
The league withdrew its latest proposal to the NHL Players' Association after Thursday night's self-imposed deadline came and went.
More than 300 games were scheduled for November and more than one-quarter of the season has now been canceled.
The league said there's no way a full season's worth of games can be played.
Revenue sharing and contract payouts remain key sticking points in the negotiations.
No further talks have been scheduled.
