Jason Kidd's lawyer says the Knicks point guard intends to fight charges he was drunk when he crashed his SUV into a telephone pole in the Hamptons this summer.

Kidd did not speak during a brief procedural hearing Wednesday.

The 39-year-old, 10-time all-star was arrested in July just days after signing with the Knicks.

He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.

Kidd is due back in court November 7, an off day for the Knicks.
