A controversial new documentary by two New York filmmakers has Major League Baseball crying foul.
The film "Balllplayer: Pelotero" takes a look at the export of young Dominican baseball players to the Unites States and the alleged fraudulent tactics used to recruit them.
Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig criticized the film calling it inaccurate. But both the film's producer Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine and the filmmakers stand by the project.
?"You have to understand that in the Dominican Republic, kids are eligible to sign when they're 16 years old," said filmmaker Trevor Martin. "So there's a lot of pressure. And when you're 16 is when you make the biggest money. The 16-year-olds sign for millions of dollars while a 17 or 18-year-old will sign for a few thousand dollars.?"
