The judge in the Roger Clemens perjury trial hopes to begin jury deliberations early next week.
Clemens' defense plans to wrap up its case on Monday.
The government will call rebuttal witnesses.
U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said he expects to get closing arguments on Tuesday before sending the case to the jury.
The trial wrapped up its eighth week Friday, with Clemens' wife testifying that her husband wasn't around when she got a shot of human growth hormone from his strength coach Brian McNamee.
Her testimony contradicted part of McNamee's story.
McNamee is the only person to give firsthand testimony that Clemens used performance-enhancing drugs while he played baseball.
