A longtime clubhouse manager for the Mets on Tuesday admitted to illegally owning millions of dollars worth of team memorabilia.
Charlie Samuels, 55, pleaded guilty to criminal possession of stolen property and tax fraud.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Samuels admitted to having more than $2 million worth of Mets memorabilia, including autographed jerseys, bats, and baseballs.
Samuels was fired by the Mets in 2010 after more than three decades with the team.
He is banned from all Mets facilities, including the team's minor league park in Brooklyn and its spring training facilities.
Brown also said Samuels failed to pay city and state taxes on thousands of dollars he received while employed with the Mets.
He is expected to be sentenced to five years probation in mid-April.
