Despite a disappointing loss against the struggling Nets, Jeremy Lin fans said late Monday night that they still have nothing but love for him.

"I was excited to see the Lin-sanity," said one fan. "It was a good game, lots of energy, people were excited."

Lin's number 17 jersey was number one for many Knicks fans at Monday night's game.

"Well I couldn't come here without Lin's jersey," said a fan who wore number 17 to the game. "He's on fire right now."

Fans say it may take a while for Lin to gel with Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the team.

"It's a growing stage," one fan said. "It's going to take time. It's not going to be overnight."

But even the return of Anthony couldn't overshadow Lin's underdog success story. One of the hottest tickets in the NBA right now, Lin was undrafted out of Harvard. Two teams cut him before he got to the Knicks. And now he's attracting fans to the Garden who have never been to an NBA game before.

"It's an exciting time," said one fan of the Lin madness. "It's good to see an Asian-American do this well."

"It kind of re-ignited my interest in basketball," another fan said.

Lin's Cinderella story is even resonating beyond sports.

"All of a sudden we have this new player that's just escalated the whole team, just inspiring everybody in New York," one fan said. "It's an amazing thing."

Knicks fans say that despite this tough loss, this team has a shot at the playoffs – and even a title.
