New Yorkers aren't the only ones excited about Jeremy Lin.
The Knicks point guard has become a national phenomenon, as evidenced by this week's Sports Illustrated cover.
Knicks fans are now hoping the famous S.I. cover jinx won't apply to the city's latest folk hero.
Lin seems just as amazed at his sudden rise to fame as everyone else.
"I think it's a miracle from God, is the way I would describe it, just because obviously I don't think anybody expected this to happen the way it happened," said Lin.
"He's the real deal. I mean ,you don't do this. You might do it for one game, two games. Now the real deal, meaning what, he's an NBA player. Whether he's the level of these other guys, we'll see. Some people have to do it for five, six years before they get it up to that level. He's not there. He just started," said Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni.
Lin was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging more than 27 points and eight assists over the last four games.
His 109 points are the most by an NBA player in his first four starts since the 1976-77 season.
