Mets pitcher Johan Santana could miss the entire 2013 season after re-injuring his left shoulder and comes just days before the team's season opener.

The 34-year-old had surgery on the same shoulder in 2010, which forced him to miss the entire 2011 season.

He will now likely need a second operation.

Santana didn't return until last April, then threw the Mets' first-ever no-hitter in June.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner is still owed $31 million as part of the six-year deal he signed with the Mets before the 2008 season.

The Mets begin their new season Monday afternoon against the Padres.
