Some famous stars gathered in Manhattan Saturday for the the city's first-ever film and entertainment soccer tournament.

The day-long charity event, which was part of the Tribeca Film Festival, was held at pier 40.

It brought together professionals from the sports and entertainment industries and ended with a celebrity soccer match.

"What brings me here today is the opportunity to get a free uniform, to look my finest out on the soccer field, and maybe do a little good while we're at it," said actor Ethan Hawke.

This is a great day where we're celebrating New York, celebrating the film festival, the rebirth of downtown," said actor Andrew Shue. "This is the first time they've ever done a soccer tournament. This is the world's game in the world's city with the world's entertainment industry, so it's great."

NY1's Jessica Abo emceed the celebrity game.

Organizers said they expected the tournament to bring in around $25,000 for New York charities.
