NY1 VIDEO: On October 5, 2007, a 16-year push for recognition for those interred in the African Burial Ground in Lower Manhattan came to fruition. A memorial was dedicated to the thousands of free and enslaved African Americans buried there in the late 17th and 18th Centuries.
