NY1 VIDEO: As NY1 News revisits its 20-year history, the station looks back at reporter Kerry Lyon's April 27, 2000 reaction to then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani's announcement that he was battling prostate cancer amid a tough Senate race against Hillary Clinton.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: Giuliani would withdraw from the Senate race the following month. He ultimately decided on a three-phase cancer treatment that included hormone therapy, the implantation of radioactive seeds in his prostate gland, and external radiation treatment. He was later declared cancer free.
